Ce Marking

The CE marking applies to imported boats brought into the European Union from an outside country
It is a mandatory European marking for certain product groups to indicate conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in European Directives.
To permit the use of a CE mark on a product, proof that the item meets the relevant requirements must be documented.
If you are importing recreational craft, or building them for sale, they will need to be CE marked as proof of compliance with the Recreational Craft Directive. All boats built for sports and leisure purposes, with a hull length of between 2.5 and 24 metres, are covered by the Directive, and by law they must be CE marked before they are placed into European waters.
CE marking is a complex and demanding process that should not be under-estimated. It requires skill, technical knowledge and a great deal of preparation. The person responsible for CE marking a vessel is required to produce exactly the same amount of supporting documentation whether they are the original builder or an importer. Even a simple sport boat requires a massive amount of evidence to be gathered and documented.

Transport Cradles

A transport cradle allows your boat to be shipped without the need of a trailer
Because transport cradles are smaller in length and width from a standard boat trailer, it is generally the most economical means of transporting your boat overseas

Shrinkwrapping

Shrink wrap is a packaging film that secures a tightly fit protective barrier on your boat or yacht protecting it from moisture, dirt, and damage while the boat is being transported.
Shrink wrap is particularly attractive to buyers that will have Global Marine detail their boats prior to transport

Transport insurance

It is important to protect your vessel at all points of the transport process
Most trucking and shipping companies provide insurance for your boat but their policies are often times limited
Transport insurance is simply an agreement by contract which protects the owner of a shipment against certain risks which may result in damage or loss of cargo during transport
Policies vary greatly as do the providers that offer them. Global Marine can assist you with transport insurance custom catered to fit your individual needs.

Winterizing

Depending on the environment where your boat is being shipped, you may want to consider winterizing it to protect against harmful temperature changes
When the temperature falls below freezing, if there is water inside your engine, gear case, or water systems on your boat, the result can be a cracked block, housing, or water system component and a costly repair bill. It is easy to prevent this unhappy circumstance by preparing your engine and systems prior to shipment
